BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
The Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions (CCCU) pays homage to Yvonne Ridguard Harris, the first female President of the CCCU, whose leadership left a lasting impact on the organization. Elected President in 2009, she later served as a director on the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) Board. During her tenure, Yvonne, who had her roots in Jamaica, distinguished herself by restructuring finances and enhancing the CCCU’s financial performance. Before her role at the regional body, she made history in 2007 as the first female President of the Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League (JCCUL) in its 80-year history. As a devoted Credit Union leader, Yvonne embodies volunteerism with her meticulous, insightful, and straightforward approach. She is an exemplary servant of the people and truly embodies the Credit Union Movement’s motto: “People helping People to succeed.”
