The Objectives of the Development Foundation are to operate and administer a fund or funds for the following purposes:

1. To stimulate activities benefitting Caribbean Co-operatives nationally and regionally;
2. To stimulate services, through co-operative projects for the relief of special disasters or emergencies;
3. To promote and advance education and the development of co-operative principles within the Caribbean;
4. To promote youth development in the Caribbean through educational opportunities and leadership training towards self-reliance;
5. To provide and in kind assistance to organizations working to empower Caribbean people and communities with special focus on minority groups, rural communities, small business and small farmers; and
6. To co-operate with governmental and non-government organizations which have objectives similar to those of the Foundation.

“Whereas the main activities for which for which the Foundation has given financial support has been related to disaster relief and small grants for education, it is intended that the Foundation play a more pivotal role in mobilizing financial resources for the development of Caribbean Co-operatives, in keeping with its objectives.”

Towards this end, the Foundation is formally launching its Supporter Network, and is inviting individuals, co-operative and other institutions to invest in the future of our Caribbean communities and the sustainable development of the Co-operative Sector.
